Bushcombe wants....
Barnaby Tompkins
As some of you know we've been working up at Bushcombe to get a track marked out. Now we have something roughly laid down we are working over the coming weeks to get it rideable.
However, this is not the only opportunity for a track up there as it covers a big area and the options are only really limited by our imagination. So Alex and I would love to know what the club would like to see included up there, either on this track or for future plans.
My personal thoughts are that we should build something to help everyone progress, providing something which tests those new to off road riding all the way up to the best riders the club has in its ranks. So any and all comments are welcome from anyone interesting in MTBing and we'll see what can be done to incorporate them into the plans.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Cheers

Jumps, lots of jumps. something on the scale of Glentress tables. 2 hours digger work should get half a dozen in I reckon.

I would agree with your thoughts B. I'd certainly enjoy some Glentress-style tables, maybe with some kind of hip jump possibility in some form of play area but it would also be good to have a "beginner" track (maybe in the form of a pump-style track?) for kids/ beginners to have a bash on. Hope to be able to get up there on 31st to see your hard work!

I'm liking the idea of a play area up there. I'd love to put in a play area with some flow between the sections to help link it into a run as needed. That perhaps doesn't make any sense but I know what I mean if you know what I mean ;)
Mike - Chicken runs are all good and hopefully if all goes well we'll get a variety of stuff which helps people to progress so chicken runs aren't necessary.
Anyone think a XC technical climb type run might be worthwhile?

There is no reason why a climbing route can't be put in for those who like to climb as well as (or in preference) to descending. We have the push path but something longer and less steep with some nice switch backs could be interesting.

Something with flowy, long but low table tops would be pretty cool. Some berms would be pretty cool too. I've looked at a video of Make or Brake trail in Glentress and that looks ideal! Something similar to that would be pretty cool! Hope to get up there to do some digging soon!
